I Walk on the Edge of Landscape |
JIANG Yuhui |
Abstract: |
Today's urban landscape is increasingly shifting from
the place to non-place. How to re-create the creative connection
between the two, rather than simply falling into the constraints and
framework of binary opposition, becomes a key issue. Returning to
the ancient Chinese garden tradition of triple "between" techniques
and artistic conception might be one way to go. The "as if" between
human making and nature creation is ultimately intended to make
nature manifest itself, the walking state between static and moving
tries to open the close interweaving of body and space, and the
illusion between truth and falsehood is a leap from the finite to the
infinite. For the increasingly digital and intelligent urban landscape
design, these ancient traditions are not outdated, but activate the
inspiration to face the reality. |
