Eco-phronesis of Xuanhua Traditional Vineyards |
CHEN Mengyun,LIN Guangsi |
Abstract: |
As an important carrier of the knowledge and ability
accumulated by humans in the process of co-evolution with
nature, the agricultural system is an important object of ecological
practice wisdom research. However, the world's only urban
agricultural heritage, Xuanhua traditional vineyards, is limited
by existing research, which still remain at the level of describing
objective features. The mechanism of traditional vineyards as
cultural landscapes where humans and nature interact has not yet
been revealed. Therefore, the reason for its continuation of the
millennium cannot be fully revealed. In view of this, the research
adopts a combination of literature review, field research, and
qualitative interviews to analyze the ecological practice wisdom
of Xuanhua traditional vineyards from four aspects: site selection,
planting methods, spatial layout structures, and habitat creation.
Furthermore, it concludes that the long-lasting eco-phronesis of
Xuanhua traditional vineyards lies in two aspects: "adjusting to
local conditions" and "coordinated symbiosis". Finally, it is pointed
out that the eco-phronesis contained in Xuanhua vineyards not
only is valuable for grape cultivation in other regions with arid
climates and limited arable land, but also inspires contemporary
urban construction to consider the three elements of "production-
living-ecology" as closely related elements, to build a harmonious
relationship between human and nature. |
